Kate Gonick

Kate Gonick serves as In-House Counsel and Director of Land Protection for the Lancaster Conservancy, an accredited land trust formed in 1969. As of 2018 the Conservancy owns over 5,300 acres of forests and natural lands, comprising 46 public nature preserves, and holds 918 acres of conservation easements. These lands protect over 42 miles of rivers and streams, as well as many springs, and seeps. Kate holds a J.D. and a Masters in Anthropology/Archaeology.  After practicing land use law in Lancaster County for over 30 years Kate joined the Conservancy in 2008. She previously worked on planning with Brandywine Conservancy and The Pinelands Commission, and established a program and taught Archaeology and Anthropology at Cheyney University. Kate has worked on public water, stormwater, and municipal issues for decades and has represented authorities, landowners, and municipalities.
