Previous work roles have included experience with the higher education sector, such as the University of Delaware College of Health Sciences, Temple University College of Engineering, and Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. Jon also served 26 years with the YMCA in many roles, from Program Director to Vice President of Development. His experience with the YMCA included program and event development, operations, and budget oversight, serving as a Y trainer, and annual fundraising.

From Kreutz Creek in the small town of Hallam to the Susquehanna River, since his youth, Jon has had a passion for the outdoors which all started with long hikes by the water and continued with a degree in Environmental Science with a focus in herpetology and ornithology. Jon, his wife Jennifer, and their two Bassett hounds, Phoebe and Maddie still enjoy long walks in the woods and evening sunsets over the Kreutz Creek Valley in Hellam Township. They have two adult sons, Andrew and DJ, who live in Chester County.
