Sarah Mitchell
Sarah Mitchell brings a lifelong passion for stewardship to her work with homeowners, property managers, and developers across Lancaster County. With a knack for fostering collaborative land management strategies, she helps conserve waterways while enhancing the beauty and function of valuable landscapes.
Conservation and agribusiness have been the common threads throughout Sarah’s life. Raised among the farms of central Wisconsin, she spent her childhood camping and fishing with her family, exploring 20 states by the age of 12. Her early love for the outdoors deepened in ninth grade when she worked at a youth conservation camp in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, maintaining trails and restoring streambanks.
Sarah went on to study horticulture and landscape architecture, building a career that has flourished in technical sales and greenhouse management. She finds deep satisfaction in supporting growers and employees, helping them bring out the best in their crops. At home, her own landscape is a sanctuary of native plants, now visited by 26 species of birds.
“I don’t know what I love more—plants or people,” Sarah says. “When people nurture the soil and the land, crops and gardens respond beautifully. This simple ‘work’ feeds the soul and adds real value to a property.” For Sarah, the ultimate reward lies downstream: cleaner rivers and streams in Pennsylvania, and a healthier Chesapeake Bay.
