SUMMARY:Made in the Shade: Environmental Conservation & Plein Air Artmaking
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special Plein Air Artmaking event\, part three of three\, at Overlook Park on Saturday October 7th 10:00-12:00pm \nFree and open to all ages and skill levels\, we are partnering with the Lancaster County Buffer Action Team to learn about their work of maintaining and implementing new acreage of native forested riparian buffers while being inspired by the surrounding environment and creating en plein air. Our native landscapes and stream corridors are works of art and a goal of the Buffer Action Team is to help educate the community to understand the plantings happening in their very own backyards and the science behind them. How and where can your organization best fit in and achieve financial + conservation goals? \nWhile public funding is a major component of the work\, private sector initiated approaches play an important role in scaling up in order to meet the rapidly approaching goals and deadlines for clean water. \nWhether you’ve been working in Lancaster for years or you’re brand new to the scene\, come be part of a necessary and exciting event diving into Lancaster’s unique and momentum-generating collaborative clean water efforts. Lancaster’s work is getting regional recognition\, and yet is still in need of innovative approaches for more capacity. We need everyone in order to achieve the shared 2040 vision of clean and clear water. \nThis forum event is an opportunity for both public and private partners to be the necessary capacity: \n\nHow: Identify and connect with new resources and practitioners\nWhere: Examine the beneficial intersections of multiple restoration options and where each is recommended\nWhy: Understand the pay-for-performance funding options and types of approaches\nBonus: Discover your unique opportunities to expand and grow the collaborative framework of this important local partnership.\n\nTimely topics will include pay-for-performance\, targeting priority areas\, mapping tools\, and full service restoration projects.
