Join us for an Engineer’s Group discussion and lunch (provided) on Thursday May 30 from 11am – 2pm (lunch will be served from 11-11:30am) at the Farm and Home Center.
This event is co-hosted with the Lancaster County Clean Water Consortium as an opportunity for our municipalities to engage with each other on specific topics. The event is open to engineers and planners who work with municipalities, individual landowners, contractors, and other local experts.
The agenda for the meeting will include:
- An update by Allyson Gibson on the local strategy that is Lancaster’s section for PA’s Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP). The engineer’s group offered fantastic feedback last time, the local plan was revised, and now you can provide feedback in the public comment on the draft plan for the entire state. That’s available at http://files.dep.state.pa.us/Water/ChesapeakeBayOffice/WIPIII/DraftPlan/PA_Phase_3_WIP_FinalDraft.pdf.
- What implementation of the WIP look like. This will include a discussion on coordinating codes and ordinances across multiple municipalities and the important role engineers can play to emphasize the need for a required conservation plan from all farms.
- We want to hear from you – what kind of water quality monitoring are municipalities currently performing? Is it to show the success of their projects or for some independent reason? Do the municipalities have a staff person who do it and keeps the data? Does an outside firm do any for them? Are they willing to share the results in a collective location for the county?
This is short notice, but did we mention lunch is provided? Please RSVP to Allyson Agibson@lancastercleanwaterpartners.com by Friday May 24th.
